Happy Death Day 2U

Hey guys it’s the lazy daddy,

As parents we don’t often get a date night so I’m here to give you some honest reviews. I’m here to make sure your date nights aren’t wasted on shitty or just out right boring movies.

Happy Death Day 2U is a pretty average horror/comedy variant of Groundhog Day.

Happy Death Day 2U is a pretty average horror/comedy variant of Groundhog Day.

Happy Death Day 2U is a pretty average… aah I have gotten myself into a loop. Much like this movie, there are a lot of repetition, but unfortunately where the first film felt fun and fresh and breezy this sequel feels tired almost immediately.

After trying a very half hearted attempt at a new story, the film quickly sets about undoing all the first films events and resets the experience under the pretense of multiple universes giving multiple life experiences for the lead Tree (Jessica Rothe).

Personally I would avoid this until it’s cheap for rental or streaming. For a better alternative with a similar theme I would recommend Coherence.

THE WEIGHT LOSS EPIPHANY

So if you are reading this I suggest you go back a few posts and read my goals for the year, it’s pretty mushy and a bit of a cry for help but its there and it’s the truth.

If you can’t be bothered to go find it here’s a quick rundown.

So my weight loss journey, I had 2 kids in 2 years, that’s 1 a year consecutively. I was not as fit as I had been before giving birth to my first born but I was fit.

Then shit went

Well pregnant with second bubs and my weight stacked on, I mean piled on every bit of shitty food I ate, made ass or arm or thigh grow. (My stomach too but you know that’s normal being preganant).

So I decided this year was the year of change, cue cliche new years resolution and here’s where I am today.

So I tried no sugar, that worked but it wasn’t something I saw being long term with two girls. Sugar is also my go to when it’s that time of the month, it shouldn’t be because it’s so bad for cramps but we will get there.

Then I had an epiphany, if I eat healthy clean foods, meal prep and exercise maybe that will work. I know what a genius.

So I researched a few tips to help me and these are the ones I swear work.

  • Shop on a full stomach, that way you will be less likely to binge buy foods.
  • Take a snack and water so if you do feel hungry you will be to busy snacking on a healthy choice to think about unhealthy ones.
  • Shop only the perimeter of the store, this is wear the healthy foods are, fruit, veg, meat, milk, bread all are on the outsides, they trick you by making you go down isles that are filled with sweets and processed foods.
  • If you have to go down a isle, only go straight for what you need then get out of there.

So there you go meal prep, clean foods and eating healthy we will see how I go.

We Are Back Baby!

We are back and this time were here to stay!

So it’s a long story, but I’m going to keep it short.

My newborn now 11 weeks has colic, colic is essentially a crying baby, we will get into that in another post though.

Finally when we though that was getting sorted out, my bubs was diagnosed with reflux, not just any reflux but severe reflux. Again we will do a whole post on that.

I then lost my great grandmother, my babies great great grandmother how cool is that? My babies had a great great grandmother…

So after some heartache, some tummyaches and pain we are here and were ready to get posting.

So stay tuned…

The Pregnancy Pillow

Hey there,

This is just a quick rundown on The pregnancy pillow!

Is it worth it? Does it actually help? In my opinion, kind of….

So my thoughts are they are great to an extent, I have tried an actual pregnancy pillow and just a body pillow. I personally had a good sleep in the day time with my pregnancy pillow but at night it was just too much to have in the bed, I feel like I either needed to choose my pillow or brad (my partner). Obviously I chose brad mainly because I really enjoy cuddling and I’m a touchy feely person, so having cuddles whilst pregnant was something I really enjoyed, I found my body pillow in between my legs and under my belly more than enough.

On the other hand if you like your personal space, especially in your sleep, than I would definitely recommend a pregnancy pillow. They really are super comfy during pregnancy, just be warned they are huge.

2019 The Year of Health Happiness and Self Love

So this year is the year I get back to being healthy! Okay, I was never overly healthy, I never ate amazingly but I was fit-ish!

It’s hard for me to write but in the last 3 years I’ve put on 35 kilos.

It wasn’t that bad to write, I actually feel some relief.

I’m not going to make excuses or tell you why I think it’s happened, instead I’m going to take the blame and tell you why it happened.

I stopped exercising all together, I lived on an island where you walked everywhere, no cars, I went from walking everywhere to nothing, I did the whole, go the gym for a few months get really into it then gave up. Now I left Hamilton island in February 2015 by the end of that year had put on about 10 kilos, then 2016 November I had put on another 10.

But the most amazing thing happened , I was pregnant with my first baby (poppy). Now after I gave birth I weighed less than when I got pregnant (I attribute this to horrendous morning sickness).

Then this is where it went down hill, because of a heart issue that came about during pregnancy, I was told I wasnt allowed to exercise until my heart resolved, which it didn’t, still hasn’t.

Now I was finally told I could exercise, but after a few months my motivation went out the window, I’m bad like that, I’m one of those people who needs to be pulled out of bed and yelled at to exercise.

I HATE EXERCISE.

I love the idea of it, I love the idea of being fit, but I need someone to go to the gym with me, and that’s no going to happen.

Now come 2017 I found out I was pregnant with bubs number 2, 2 under 2 your thinking I got pregnant by accident, nope we are crazy people and we planned it all. Realistically I was so unhealthy coming into my pregnancy that it was obvious i was going to be unhealthy by the end of it, which is were we are right now.

6 weeks postpartum and I’m ready to take responsibility and get fit and healthy. I hate my body at the moment and really desperately want to love it, so this is the beginning of that.

Let me tell you some things before I let you in on my goals. I don’t care about being a size 6, I just want to feel good, I don’t care about what the scales read once I’m in my healthy bmi range. Lastly I don’t eant this to take over my life.

  • By March I will of lost at least 7 kilos
  • I will hopefully feel better and not so tired.
  • I will not drink soft drink (except mineral water)
  • I will be exercising daily
  • I will drink at least 3 liters of water a day
  • I will love my body, stretch marks, saggy boobs and all

Coffee Not Coffee

As a mum most of us enjoy coffee, its social, its tasty and most of all its caffeine.

Its energy that gets us through the day, after being up all night because without it some of us can’t function.

Coffee is getting out and about, catching up with a friend or finally getting to sit down and take a moment to yourself.

Well I love coffee as you may have gathered but I can’t have normal coffee, (because of my heart) so I have to settle for decaf, which still has a tiny bit of caffeine in it but no where near as much a a proper coffee.

To make matters worse people just don’t seem to care about decaf and they don’t take the same care making it.

Well usually I end up settling for a chai latte, chai tea, green tea or a hot chocolate.

I finally found a place that does a good decaf coffee, they take the same care making a decaf. Why is this important? Because it tastes like real coffee!

What’s your favourite coffee?
